Craft Fair: The West Teays Elementary School in Hurricane will host its ninth annual craft fair from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. Admission is free, and more than 50 vendors will offer their goods for sale.
Breakfast with Santa: The Nitro High School Showcats will host a pancake breakfast with Santa and holiday craft show on Saturday, Dec. 12, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Nitro High School. Breakfast will consist of pancakes, sausage and drinks. Crafts will include purses, florals, wreaths, jewelry, quilts and various other handmade items. The Nitro Showcats will be presenting their holiday show at various times during the day. Cost for breakfast is $5. Cost to rent a craft space is $20. Cost for the show is $5. Interact Club Advisors: The Putnam County Rotary Club is looking for faculty advisors to oversee an Interact Club at each county high school. The Interact Club is a service club for high school students that would help each club member fulfill his or her community service requirement for Putnam County. Rotary would provide support for the Interactors and help set up the club, identifying and coordinating projects by agreeing to have a Rotary Club member attend the Interact club meetings. Free Exam Preparation: The Adult Learning Center at the Putnam Career and Technical Center in Eleanor offers classes to prepare for the GED, ACT and LPN exams. Classes are conducted Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. and Friday from 8 to 11 a.m. Also available is an online class to prepare for the exams.
