Generation Putnam, a young professional organization and committee of the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce, has teamed up with Christmas for Kids in the Community this holiday season.
Christmas for Kids in the Community is an organization designed to help local families in need. Those families are referred by Capitol Resource and the Department of Health and Human Resources. New toys, food items, clothing and hygiene items are provided to children ages birth through 18.
Generation Putnam has set up several drop locations in Putnam County, and they are asking for the community's help to make Christmas a little brighter for local children. Donors can bring a new toy or food item to one of the following locations:
City National Bank (Hurricane, Teays Valley and Winfield offices)
Ntelos (Teays Valley)
Tri-County YMCA
Putnam County Bank (Interstate office)
Putnam County Chamber of Commerce
John Henson Senior Building
Monetary donations also will be accepted.
All donations must be made by Friday, Dec. 4.
Generation Putnam Cheers, a monthly networking event for young professionals, will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 1, from 5 to 7 p.m. at City National Bank in Hurricane. Admission will be free with a donation of at least $10 or a new toy or food item.
